       in Santa Monica (2015-16). 
  • Represents clients and handled negotiations with international art auction houses (Sotheby's, Christie's, and Chinese auction houses) for live auctions and online consignments of 1M and up.
  • Curator and producer of a live art auction for a nonprofit organization PTV, (Program for Torture Victims).
 
DEPICT    Senior Curator of Modern, Contemporary and Digital Art           Oct 2018 - March 2019
 
As the Senior Art Curator, I was responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing licensing rights for artworks to expand the Depict Collection.
 
  • Secured content partnerships with contemporary artists, surpassing the goal by 50% in delivering over 100 artworks from contemporary artists in a five-month period. 
  • Curated over 20 thematic playlists for public release via the Depict App.

Responsible for scaling the event from a small venue in San Jose, CA to the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, ultimately tripling all participating programs (speakers, leaders in the field of TEch ( AR and VR), artists and

art galleries in four months.

 

  • Managed and supported gallery relationships, artist projects, VIP program, and speaker panels.

As the executive director and curator, I successfully developed the entire gallery brand and exhibition program for
a 4000 sq/feet gallery space in San Francisco. With a focus on contemporary Chinese art, I led that market in the US and abroad for over ten years.
 
  • Curatorial experience: Curated over a hundred exhibitions in all mediums ranging from technology to photography which has been reviewed in local, national and international newspapers and magazines (Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Art Asia Pacific, Yishu). Has introduced contemporary Chinese art to the West coast since 2000 by presenting international, now internationally known artists for their first time in the US. Has placed important works of art in public and private institutions around the country and abroad (SFMOMA, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Chicago Museum of Art, The Pilara Foundation, and others.) 
  • Sales and Financial Management: Achieved and surpassed sales goals on a yearly basis. Responsible for all financial decisions related to the business, including payments to contractors, artists, exhibition budgets and monthly operation costs.
  • Marketing experience: Developed and implemented marketing strategies, online presence, and branding of the business. Designed and produced all printed marketing materials. Wrote press releases, and essays for catalogs. Organized and participated in lectures and conducted gallery exhibitions tours for art students, and museum members.
  • Traveling Exhibitor: Participated as an exhibitor in Miami Art Fairs (December 2008, 2009, 2010).

Hired as a gallery assistant in 1991, became the director in 1994 and made partner in 1999.
  • As the director and partner of the gallery,  I successfully managed over twenty artists’ careers from emerging to mid-career.  Curated and co-curated over fourteen exhibitions annually. Handled sales to public institutions and private collections. Developed branding and PR materials, managed packing, shipping, and the inventory of the art.
 
DANISH MINISTRY OF CULTURE     Executive Assistant                                                    1989-1991  
 
  • Developed and produced cultural events between France and Denmark including concerts, art exhibitions, dance performances, and field trips. 
  • Handled budget and office accounting reports on a monthly basis for the Royal Accounting Court.
  • Wrote yearly report in Danish for assessment of performances by the Ministry of Culture.
 
NORDIC FILM FESTIVAL         Executive Assistant to founding team members                1987-1988
Festival premiered in March 1988 and ran for 23 years until 2010.
 
  • Assistant to all four founding team members. Responsible for correspondence and meetings in English in all affairs for the development of the Festival (press, jury accommodations, screenings, administration with international film institutions, film distributors, etc…)
