Launched in 2014, MikkO design is a line of jewelry blending craft and contemporary. Inspired by color and contemporary design, MikkO design consists of four series Atom, Chroma, Pagoda and Iwa.

The Atom series is a fun design using the basics of bead threading. Each color is treated like a bead and strung on a coated wire and finished with a magnetic clasp.
Visually referring to the nucleus mapping of atoms, this series is the building block of MikkO design!

The Chroma series explores the color combinations within the constraints of a circular shape. Think of the traditional artist's color wheel of the early twentieth century. By building blocks of colors, each combination celebrates the degree of visual difference between the dimensions of a color, also known as hues.

The Pagoda Series is a more complex approach to the Chroma series by adding rythm to the color combination. Interrupted by a single bead, the repetition of the pattern is then split in half in order to carry over the symetry of the design. Pagoda refers to the many tiered towers found in India and East Asia.

The Iwa Series is a tribute to the simplicity and the serenity of the Japanese rock gardens I visited while in Japan. Iwa means rock in Japanese. The placement of each color in relation with each other is meticulously thought out as much as the careful placement of each rock on gravel of those gardens.
